Meet The Team

Dr. Sally Taylor, MBBS, DM-FM
Family Medicine Specialist

Dr. Taylor was born in the Bahamas to Bahamian parents. Unfortunately as a toddler she lost her mother to a car accident and was raised by her aunt and uncle-the only parents she knew. She excelled in school and graduated at the top of her class at Aquinas College. She then attended Barry University in Miami, Florida, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology/Chemistry.

Subsequently she obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of the West Indies, Trinidad, West Indies where she also served as Vice-President of her class. After graduating from medical school, Dr. Taylor completed her residency at the Princess Margaret Hospital, Nassau, Bahamas where she obtained her Diploma in Family Medicine, Master in Family Medicine and finally Doctor of Medicine in Family Medicine from the University of the West indies, Trinidad and Bahamas Campus. Dr. Taylor has over 18 years of experience in the Bahamas, the Caribbean and the USA (Washington DC, Gainesville, Florida). Her training has allowed her to serve in the Public and Private sectors of Healthcare in the Bahamas. She has served as Consultant and physician responsible for the West District of Grand Bahama as well as the Team Leader for the Elizabeth Estates Clinic.  She serves as an Associate Lecturer for the University of the West Indies School of Clinical Medicine.  She has also provided relief services in Abaco, Exuma and Andros.   

She became a member of the Association of Black Cardiologists in 2002, the American Academy of Family Physicians, member in 2009, Consultant Physician Staff Association Trustee (member since 2015) and a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians in 2017.

Dr. Taylor is a Family Medicine Specialist who currently resides in Nassau. In her leisure time she enjoys spending time with family, tinkering on her computer, research, attending international conferences, canine training, and exploring international cuisines. She has appeared on many platforms providing her professional expertise on topics related to Family Medicine emphasizing the importance of health as it relates to the Mind, Body and Soul of a person.

Dr. Tamonya Sands,
Certified Life Coach

Dr. Tamonya Sands is an International Certified Life Coach who is also a MD. She is a highly rated coach with years’ experience providing one-on-one and group coaching. Her passion is helping people discover their strength and empowering them with techniques to live a balanced life and become the best version of themselves. Dr. Sands specializes in promoting lifestyle changes, patient health and wellness and prevention.

Dr. Carla Bethel,
MBBS, DM-FM

Dr. Bethel attended the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus and received a bachelor's degree in Natural Science/Zoology in 1987.  She then attended the University of the West Indies Medical School and graduated in 1994.  She later completed her specialty in Family Medicine in 2015, and a post-graduate diploma in Practical Dermatology in 2018.  She has a wealth of work experience including emergency medicine, infectious disease, psychiatry, but her passion is Family Medicine.  Her practice interests include managing common skin problems, hypertension, diabetes and high cholesterol.  She is also focused on preventative health and health promotion.  

Her personal interests include walking as a form of physical, mental and spiritual fitness.  She also practices healthy eating habits.

Meghan P. Taylor, Medical Assistant/Certified EMT

Meghan is a saavy and skilled Medical Assistant who is also a Certified EMT with almost 15 years experience in the medical field. She received her Emergency Medical Technician certification from Florida Medical Technical Institute in 2013.

She is trained in assisting with all patient care including taking vitals, administering medications, immunizations and assisting physicians with procedures. She is proficient in medical terminology and procedures and enjoys attending medical seminars and conferences.
